A fundista Adriana Aparecida juntou-se a Marilson Gomes dos Santos e carimbou o passaporte para os Jogos Olímpicos de Londres, em julho. A atleta conquistou a vaga ao ficar na nona colocação da Maratona de Tóquio, realizada neste domingo (26), com o tempo de 2h29min17s, seu recorde pessoal na distância.
A marca de Adriana é a segunda melhor de uma atleta brasileira nos 42 km, atrás apenas das 2h27min41s, recorde brasileiro e sulamericano de Carmem de Oliveira, conquistados na Maratona de Boston de 1994. Para conseguir a vaga, a vencedora dos Jogos Panamericanos de Guadalajara, em 2011 (2h36min37s), tinha que completar a prova abaixo de 2h30min07s, índice exigido pela CBAt (Confederação Brasileira de Atletismo).
