Nove trechos em paralelepípedos e 197 km, esse foi o percurso que o britânico Mark Cavendish, da equipe Etixx Quick-Step, fez durante o domingo (1°) e que o consagrou campeão da prova Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne 2015, na Bélgica, segunda prova da pré-temporada de Clássicas da Primavera na região de Flanders. Mark superou Alexander Kristoff (2°), da Katusha, e Elia Viviani (3°), da Sky.
VEM AÍ O CAMPEONATO PAULISTA DE RESISTÊNCIA
Essa é a 7ª vitória de Cavendish nesse ano e o segundo pódio na corrida belga, ele foi campeão em 2012 da Kristoff na Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne. A vitória é importante não apenas para Cavendish, mas para sua equipe. No dia anterior (28/02), o time Etixx-QuickStep contou com três atletas na reta final da Omloop Het Nieuwsblad e mesmo em maior quantidade não conseguiu segurar o bicampeonato do britânico Ian Stannard, da Sky, na prova. Com isso, Niki Terpstra, Tom Boonen e Stijn Vandenbergh, da Etixx-QuickStep, finalizaram em 2º, 3º e 4º, respectivamente, na etapa de abertura das Clássicas de Primavera na região de Flanders.
