A oitava edição da Volta Internacional de Gravataí, válida pelo ranking nacional e internacional da UCI (União Ciclística Internacional), começa na próxima quarta-feira, dia 13, com uma etapa de 180 km que vai de Gravataí, na região metropolitana de Porto Alegre, até a cidade de Torres, no litoral, e termina no dia 1, sendo composta por cinco etapas.
A competição vai reunir cerca de 100 ciclistas de 12 equipes nacionais e cinco estrangeiras. Os atuais campeões da EPM-une, da Colômbia,porém, não estarão presentes em Gravataí.
Entre os times nacionais, estão confirmadas as presenças de Clube DataRo de Ciclismo, Avaí-Florianópolis, São José dos Campos-Cannondale, GRCE-Usiminas-Giant-Santos, São Lucas-Giant-CicloRavena-Americana, Refactor-PZ Racing-Ribeirão Pires, Funvic-Marcondes César-Pindamonhangaba, São Francisco Saúde-Ribeirão Preto, Velo-SEME-Rio Claro, FW Eng.-Amazonas-Três Rios-Trotz, Padaria Real-Céu Azul Alimentos-Sorocaba e a Seleção Gaúcha.
Entre as estrangeiras J.A.M Found-NCC, dos Estados Unidos, a Seleção Chilena e as argentinas Ingeosat-Hatch, ERT Start Cycling Team e a ERT-Start-Sub-23.
