O eritreu Zesernay Tadese, recordista mundial da meia-maratona (58min23s), confirmou seu favoritismo e venceu a Meia-maratona de Lisboa neste domingo, dia 20 de março. O atleta cruzou a linha de chegada em 58min30s, segundo melhor tempo da história dos 21 km. “Os coelhos não eram tão bons. Já no quilômetro cinco eu estava sozinho e tive que encarar os outros 16 km somente contra o relógio”, falou o atleta, que completou os 10 primeiros quilômetros em 27min42s, três segundos abaixo do recorde mundial.
“Meu técnico me disse para apertar um pouco e ir para um ritmo mais forte Mas, na verdade, nos últimos três quilômetros lutei contra o vento e nos últimos cem metros vi o relógio e sabia que o recorde mundial não seria quebrado hoje”, completou o atleta. Com 1h00min30s, o queniano John Nzau Mwangangi ficou com a segunda colocação, seguido por seu compatriota Silas Sang, com 1h00min38s.
Na disputa feminina, a etíope Aberu Kebede foi a grande vencedora, com a marca de 1h08min28s. A dona da casa Ana Dulce Felix quebrou o recorde nacional com 1h08min33s e ficou com a segunda colocação. Grace Momanyi, do Quênia, completou o pódio, com 1h08min41s.
