A triatleta brasileira Pâmella Oliveira conquistou a medalha de bronze da prova feminina de triathlon dos Jogos Pan-americanos Guadalajara 2011, realizada neste domingo (23/10) pela manhã, na cidade de Puerto Vallarta.
A brasileira chegou a fazer a transição do ciclismo para a corrida na liderança da prova, mas acabou superada pela americana Sarah Haskins, que levou a medalha de ouro e a vaga para os Jogos Olímpicos Londres 2012, e pela chilena Barbara Riveros. A medalha de bronze de Pâmella foi garantida com o tempo de 2h00min32s, cerca de 3 minutos atrás da campeã.
Pâmella sentiu o forte calor dentro e fora d’água e cruzou a linha de chegada extenuada, precisando ser carregada pela equipe técnica do Time Brasil para se restabelecer. A outra triatleta brasileira na disputa do triathlon no Pan, Flávia Fernandes, ficou com a 12ª colocação na prova.
