Representantes do Brasil na Olimpíada do Rio, Henrique Avancini e Raiza Goulão confirmaram o favoritismo e foram campeões do Campeonato Brasileiro de MTB XCO, no último domingo, em Juiz de Fora (MG). Raiza ainda comemorou o bicampeonato no evento que reuniu cerca de 400 ciclistas e serviu como preparação para os Jogos do Rio.
No masculino, Avancini mostrou por que é o principal atleta da seleção brasileira e fez uma prova bem agressiva, deixando para trás Rubens Donizete, o Rubinho, que também estará na Olimpíada, e Sherman Paiva. Avancini conquistou o título ao terminar a prova em 1h27min29s, um minuto à frente de Rubinho (1h28min30s). Sherman Paiva completou o pódio finalizando a prova em 1h28min50s.
Na elite feminina, Raiza Goulão provou que continua acima das suas concorrentes. Após um período competindo na Europa, Raiza liderou a prova de ponta a ponta em Juiz de Fora, não dando chance para suas adversárias. A goiana fechou a prova com o tempo de 1h26min09s, à frente de Isabela Lacerda (1h31min49s) e Letícia Soares (1h34min52s).
Agora, Avancini e Raiza focam seus esforços exclusivamente na reta final de preparação para a Olimpíada do Rio. A disputa do MTB começa no dia 20 de agosto e será realizada no Complexo de Deodoro.
