Um dos principais nomes da equipe Saxo Bank, Frank Schleck está fora do Tour de France. O luxemburguês era um dos principais alicerces de Andy Schleck, vice-campeão no ano passado, um dos principais favoritos ao título em 2010.
Frank, o mais velho dos Schleck, sofreu uma grave fratura na clavícula após sofrer uma queda no 30km da 3ª etapa, disputada entre Wanze e Arenberg, que terminou com a vitória do norueguês Thor Hushovd.
Frank Schleck foi levado ao hospital para realizar exames mais detalhados, e acabou sendo confirmada a fratura na clavícula. O ciclista passará por cirurgia nos próximos dias
O time dirigido por Bjarne Riis conta com os dinamarqueses Jakob Fulgsang e Chris Sorensen e o alemão Jens Voigt para auxiliar Andy Schleck nas duras montanhas do Tour.
Na etapa desta terça-feira, Andy conseguiu colocar mais de 1 minuto sobre Alberto Contador e 2min08s sobre Lance Armstrong, e assumiu a sexta posição na classificação geral.
