Uma pesquisa realizada na Austrália indica que exercícios aeróbicos, como a corrida, tendem a fazer com que seus adeptos sintam maior sensação de satisfação após as refeições. Os estudiosos dividiram os 33 voluntários — todos sedentários e acima do peso — em três grupos: os que passariam a realizar treinos de musculação, os que fariam exercícios aeróbicos e os que seguiriam com sua rotina normal.
Após 12 semanas e com análises frequentes de percepção do apetite, saciedade e dos hormônios que controlam a sensação de fome, chegaram ao resultado: o grupo que praticou atividades aeróbicas demonstrou se sentir mais saciado com as refeições com relação ao início da pesquisa.
Segundo os especialistas, isso pode ter ocorrido por conta da diminuição da leptina (hormônio que inibe a vontade de comer), que, segundo estudos recentes, pode estar relacionada com a prática aeróbica.
