Existe a ordem natural que o bom senso deveria seguir. Deveríamos, por lógica, começar a competir após meses de treino na distância de 5 ou 10km para então gradativamente chegar na meia-maratona, maratona e quem sabe na ultramaratona. Mas quem disse que todo corredor amador deve necessariamente ter o “selo” de maratonista em seu curriculum esportivo?
Assim, quem lhe dará a resposta será seu treino diário. Me sinto bem treinando corridas curtas ou longas? E, a partir deste conhecimento pessoal, devemos avaliar nossa participação em uma meia maratona, maratona ou ultra. E vejam: já existe um enorme contingente de corredores que chegam a correr sua primeira maratona para então perceber que não é isso que realmente desejam.
Ninguém é obrigado a adquirir o status de corredor de longa distância somente para ostentar esse título.
Somos corredores, e isso só, já basta.
